Q: How ART thou?
A: My paintings emerge from the knotted place in my body where desire, dysphoria, envy and hunger are indistinguishable. I see subjects of my paintings as collaborators, as they forge trans and queer aesthetics in their bodies and in the images they capture of their bodies. Surgery, hormones, tattoos and piercings, makeup, (un)clothing, hair, scars, poses, angles and cropping are powertools of expression, rumbling at frequencies only queers can hear.
